Our blog started as a Travelog (my wife Sarah and I followed The Dead and Phish in an RV summer of 2004) - but now it is Mr. Mike's blog about life and that sort of thing. A working class family man - trying to start our own hippie business and managing telemarketters all the while.

Turkey day and all that

Well today is Thanksgiving - I can't believe how fast this year is going by... I am getting ready to go to my Grandma & Grandpa's here pretty soon - woke up to a brilliant 23 degrees - gotta love Minnesota..... I took a look at who I should start for Fantasy Football - but it doesn't really seem to matter because I think I am out of the playoffs in my pay league anyway - maybe I can still take down a couple of the big guns on my way out... I have a good shot at playoffs in our for fun yahoo league and hope to win these last two games....
I was hosting a bittorrent of Phish's show from 9-28-99 and it got a bad comment about the quality of the recording... so this morning i burnt it and am listening to it now - I don't hear the problems.... We have a couple coming over to look at our trailer on Sat. and have been trying to organize everything best we can and clean up the clutter.... I can't wait to get moved out to the farm and get settled in - we have needed more space for awhile now - especially after this summer and all the extra crap we had in the RV... will be nice to be able to do our own laundry out on the farm - sick of going to the laundromat - last time I went down there were all guys in the laundromat and this redneck screams out "Why the fuck are there all men in here - this is woman's work" nobody really replied - I was washing my wife's bras and thought it was pretty funny. But i think i can do without those interactions. I missed my buddy Chris who was in state from Connecticut.. he flew into the cities and stayed with a couple of our friends - but it just didn't work out for me to get up there - with cleaning up and trying to get ready to show this place - plus they were out to get fucked up at the bars and today marks my 30 days sober - on the wagon - cleaning it out a bit - i have also been going down to the gym and working out pretty regular for the last month - hey i've lost 12 pounds after my workout 2 days ago - but last night we ordered pizza and today i will eat alot - gotta get down to the gym tonite and burn some off. Very excited to see the family today - also excited to have a day off with Sarah on Sat. and then I am going up to watch the Vikings VS Jaguars on sunday - first time i've been to a football game since icky woods and the bengals back in the 80's. Well that's what's going on with me. Happy THanksgiving everybody...

Here is a picture of Kikko that I took the other day. She is getting so big and is really a typical siamese brat. But you gotta love her.
We have been back in Minnesota since late August.... Sarah went back to work right away and is working hard in the kitchen. I was allowed to sit on my ass for a month and a half and am now back to work in the office. I am managing again on a smaller scale and am now only in charge of one campaign and about 25 employees. I manage telemarketters that work in the mortgage industry. So yes I am the guy encouraging the telemarketters that are placing those calls that everybody bitches about. I also teach them how to not take no for an answer, I know that really pisses people off. But enough about that - I don't want to dwell about what I do for a living.
Well -there has been all kind of news in our lives.... first things first. We sold our RV..... we have decided that we jumped into the RV lifestyle a little blind and that it isn't what we are looking for right now in our lives. So this will no longer be a TravelogBLOG - I will have to rename it and try to post my daily life type shit... just figured out how to post the photos too! As far as the end of our summer went.. we went to Coventry and waited in line for a day and a half or so --- moved about a 1/2 mile in 24 hours.. we had decided not to go in the show after Mike Gordon made the announcement. We weren't going to ditch the RV and our cat and walk in - we did find a campground for 10 bucks at the Caledonia County Fairgrounds and stayed there through the weekend. The first night was very fun - they had a huge stereo blasting the soundboard feed of the concert - alot of people were really getting loose and having a party! Lots of fun and the show was very good - not so emotional like the second night. We ended up pluggin in and getting water for the RV - were very settled in. It was our best option for us at Coventry. Afterwards we went to New Hampshire and partied with our man Brett - met up with Kate and Sarah there also - old college drinking reunion. Then Sarah and I headed home - nice and easy - went to Niagara Falls, but otherwise not too eventful - just slow paced.

This is a view from the backyard looking towards the road. Very excited about being homeowners in the country.

Here is a picture of the house we are buying! This is a view from the front.
